Brownstoner reported that the hotel, purchased by the Lam Group for $31 million earlier this year, will now operate as part of the Hotel Indigo boutique brand and have a soft opening of Aug. 1. Joseph Yi, vice president at the Lam Group, told Brownstoner that in its current condition the 128-room, 19-story hotel at 231 Duffield Street needs “considerable work” in its lobby and restaurant. The Lam Group plans to replace hotel signage, redo room repackaging and bring in some additional art, but there will be no structural changes made, according to Brownstoner. Most of the original layout will reportedly be preserved.

As previously reported, V3 Hotels owned and constructed the property, and had hoped that the hotel would first open last November. Brownstoner said that V3 was aiming to open the property in April of this year, but that plan never transpired. [Brownstoner]
