The zoning approvals for the Meatpacking District development at 837 Washington Street have been signed off on by the city’s Department of Buildings, Curbed reported. The approval brings the 55,000-square-foot commercial building closer to rising up across from the Standard.

The development is a joint project of Taconic Investment Partners and Joseph Sitt’s Thor Equities. Morris Adjmi is the architect on record. The plan involves adding four stories to an original brick base that dates back to the 1930s. The building will house 28,000 square feet of retail and 27,000 square feet of office spaces.
