Christian Rudder and 184 North 9th Street

Was it love at first sight? Christian Rudder, the co-founder of popular online dating website OkCupid, has paid over ask for a three-family home in Williamsburg, according to property records filed today. The property was last listed for $1.59 million, but Rudder and his wife, Reshma Patel, plunked down $1.6 million, records show.

The 2,700-square-foot building, located at 184 North 9th Street near Bedford Avenue, was built in 1910 and is divided into three two-bedroom railroad-style units. Danielle Villalba, a broker with Nassau County-based boutique firm Nest Realty Consultants, had the exclusive listing.

Rudder is the general manager of the website, which he co-founded in 2004. OkCupid was acquired in 2011 by the operators of competitor Match.com for $50 million. Rudder and Patel, a publicist, currently live in a 1,592-square-foot condominium at 286 Union Avenue in Williamsburg, which they bought for $800,000 in 2006, records show.

It is unclear whether the couple plans to move into the property or use it for investment purposes. Neither Rudder nor Villalba could be immediately reached for comment.
