A Lower Manhattan Landmarked Building Known As Temple Court is one step closer to a hotel and condo conversion after interior and structural demolition permits were finally filed, Curbed reported. Due to its landmarked status, several elements of the historic brick and terracotta office building, including its Victorian atrium, will be preserved.

Last March, hotel investor Allen Gross’ GB Lodgings paid the Chetrit Group and Bonjour Capital $64 million for the nine-story building, located at 5 Beekman Street. The property is slated to become a 297-room boutique hotel with 90 residences, as The Real Deal previously reported, and the project’s website says that the hotel will be open for business in late 2014.
