“Walking Dead” star buys Little Italy penthouse for $3.8M

Actor Norman Reedus, best known for “The Walking Dead” and “The Boondock Saints,” is moving up to one of the penthouse condominiums in a Little Italy building he lived in for more than three years, according to city records filed yesterday.

He signed the contract April 18 to buy a penthouse condo at 136 Baxter Street for $3.8 million from Andreas Veith, the former CEO of Hypo Real Estate Capital Corporation. The listing broker for the sale is unknown, but the Corcoran Group previously listed the unit for $4.25 million in March 2012.

Reedus sold a two-bedroom, 1,558-square-foot condo on the building’s second floor in January for $2.08 million. That apartment’s current owner is Dana Arbib and an entity called Difd Trust, StreetEasy shows.

The 2,579-square-foot three-bedroom duplex penthouse features a fireplace, 10-foot timber beamed ceilings, red oak floors and 600 square feet of private outdoor space near the main living room, the Corcoran listing said.

The seven-story building, known as the Machinery Exchange, was constructed in 1915 and housed used manufacturing equipment. Veteran art dealer Max Protetch and Veith led a conversion of the building in 2007 to 14 condos.

Reedus or his lawyer Lewis Kuper of Goldberg Weprin Finkel Goldstein LLP could not be immediately reached for comment.
