NYC’s skinniest home now in contract

Fat chance? The city’s narrowest building is finally in contract after years of price chops and popping on and off the market, Curbed reported. The property, at 75 1/2 Bedford Street in the West Village, was last asking $3.5 million.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home was built around 1850 and comes with a garden, four wood-burning fireplaces and the priceless cachet of being able to say you live where Cary Grant, John Barrymore and Margaret Mead once dwelled.

The 9.5-foot wide home first hit the market just over two years ago for $4.3 million, but was taken off the market at the end of 2011, according to StreetEasy. In January 2012 it was re-listed asking $3.95 million, then underwent two additional price cuts before being taken off again. In February it re-emerged asking $3.5 million.
