A seven-story, 229-unit development at 50 North 5th Street in Williamsburg will begin leasing mid-summer, according to a release from aptsandlofts.com, which is handling marketing.

Mack Real Estate Capital Group and and Urban Development Partners developed the warehouse-turned-rental conversion project, formerly known as 204 Wythe Avenue.

The 248,000-square-foot building, once home to the Western Carpet Company, will feature a mix of studio, one- and two-bedrooms apartments, some of which will have private terraces. It also contains a basketball court, bocce ball court, two-floor gym, billiard room and courtyard with a waterfall, the release said.

SLCE Architects designed the façade of the “hotel-style” building. Williamsburg-based CLO-TH Interiors designed the interiors, the release said.

Back in 2011, the building was slated to have 157 units and five stories. Area Property Partners bought the site in 2011 for $27.5 million, as previously reported, and partnered with Urban Development Partners on the project. —Mark Maurer
