Skyway Development Group has acquired a 12-story commercial building at 30 West 21st Street for $38.5 million from Kimco Realty Corporation, the real estate firm announced yesterday in a release.
James Nelson of Massey Knakal Realty Services brokered the deal, which includes about 60,000 square feet of existing office and retail space and 66 feet of combined frontage. The property, formerly Alma Lofts, is located between Fifth and Sixth avenues in the Flatiron District. In 2011, Extrovertic, a health care marketing company, signed a five-year lease there for 5,150 square feet, as previously reported.
Elsewhere in the neighborhood, Skyway converted 29 West 19th Street to full-floor residences in 2004, and later acquired the lot at 27 West 19th Street to expand development space for the 15-story condo the Emory, the release said.
Architect Karl Fischer designed a renovation of the early 20th-century, Neo-Renaissance-style building in 2007. He restored the original copper and stone façade, the release said. – Mark Maurer
