Mercedes House getting a grocery store
Residents of the 29-story luxury rental Mercedes House soon won’t have to travel far for groceries.
MH Supermarket signed a 15-year lease with Two Trees Management, which owns and manages the 900-unit building at 550 West 54th Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, Two Trees said in a release.
When the 5,000-square-foot market opens in the building this fall, it will also offer delivery and catering services. Non-residents are also welcome to purchase goods there.
Asking rent was $60 per square foot, the New York Observer reported. Mercedes-Benz Manhattan, a dry cleaner and the New York Police Department stables are currently tenants there as well, the newspaper said.
Two Trees sold 162 units in the building to Invesco for $170 million in February, as previously reported. As of last month, the first two phases of Mercedes House were fully leased. [NYO] – Mark Maurer
