Designer Rebecca Minkoff buys Clocktower condo for $1.8M

Fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff and husband Gavin Bellour, an actor and director, purchased a home at the Clocktower Building in Dumbo for $1.82 million, according to city records filed late Friday.

Karen Heyman of Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing for the two-bedroom, 2,068-square-foot condominium unit at 1 Main Street. The home hit the market in early February for $1.85 million and entered contract later that month, according to StreetEasy.

The couple’s condo boasts hardwood flooring, roughly 11-foot ceilings, plus a marble bath with Jacuzzi in the master suite, according to the listing.

Minkoff’s brand, which includes accessories, footwear, handbags and jewelry, is distributed in over 900 stores across the globe, according to her website. In 2011, Minkoff nabbed the Breakthrough Designer Award from the Accessories Council, a non-profit organization that aims to grow customer awareness and demand for fashion products. That same year, Minkoff’s handbag label earned $35 million in sales, according to previous reports.

Bellour has held roles in “Royal Pains” and “Army Wives,” according to his IMDb page.

The Clocktower Building currently has the most expensive listings in the borough on a per-square-foot basis, as The Real Deal reported last week. The average asking price is $1,494 per square foot.

The property’s 6,813-square-foot triplex penthouse unit — whose windows are embedded with the tower’s clock — is on the market for $18 million. This particular unit has come on and off the market for the past several years, and the current ask is a $7 million reduction from its original price, as previously reported.

Neither Heyman, a representative for Minkoff nor Bellour immediately responded to messages seeking comment.
