The oldest house in the West Village — owned by the estate of late actor Yul Brynner’s ex-wife – has sold for $7.35 million to an unidentified couple who love the neighborhood, The Real Deal has learned.

The Federal-style Isaacs Hendricks House, at 77 Bedford Street, is 214 years old. French socialite and actress Jacqueline Thion de la Chaume, who was married to the magnificently bald Brynner from 1971 to 1981, bought the 4,000-square-foot four-bedroom, four-bathroom property in 1989 for an undisclosed amount.

The sale to M&A Bedford Properties, a limited liability corporation, closed July 23, property records show.

Stribling & Associates Marcy Grau brokered the deal for the seller, and Sotheby’s International Realty’s Roberta Golubock represented the buyer, Grau told The Real Deal.

The home hit the Market in May for $6.9 million and received multiple offers, Grau said.

Grau declined to reveal the identity of the buyers, who made the purchase through M&A Bedford Properties, but described them as “New Yorkers who love New York and love the Village” and would make it their primary home.

The property neighbors the city’s skinniest townhouse at 75 1/2 Bedford Street, which just sold for $3.25 million.

Grau noted the grand master suite, which spans the top floor and leads to a terrace boasting views of trees on three sides.

“It was originally a farmhouse,” Grau said, “and it still just feels like you were in a country house in the city.”
