Hotel will replace Boerum Hill post office next year: sources

A seven-story Hotel Is Going Up On Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill where a post office now sits, according to unnamed sources.

Work on the site, at 542 Atlantic Avenue, will begin sometime in 2014. The lot’s owner, listed as Gmp Associates on PropertyShark, also operates a five-story warehouse at 540 Atlantic Avenue that could be part of the project, the sources told Brownstoner.

Postal carriers will report to Other Brooklyn Offices Such As 210 Joralemon Street in Brooklyn Heights, 1205 Atlantic Avenue in Bed-Stuy and 615 Clinton Street in Red Hook.

“At this time, we are still in lease negotiations on this location,” Maureen Marion, a spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service, told DNAinfo. She would not comment about the hotel. [Brownstoner and DNAinfo] – Mark Maurer
