The former West Village home of playwright Arthur Laurents has hit the market asking $12 million. The 4,368-square-foot, 21-foot wide townhouse at 9 Saint Luke’s place was previously renting for $18,000 per month, according to StreetEasy.

Laurents, the scribe behind classics such as West Side Story, lived until 2006 in the 1860’s townhouse on Saint Lukes Place, a street which was once home to Robert De Niro, according to Curbed.
