NYC Wine & Food fest relocates Uptown to Vornado’s piers

The New York City Wine & Food Festival, after five cramped years in the Meatpacking District, is plunking down its Annabelle the Cow sculpture and delectable delights on Vornado Realty Trust’s Piers 92 and 94 between West 53rd and West 55th streets.

The Food & Wine magazine-presented event will pay $450,000 to rent both piers, NYCWFF founder and director Lee Schrager told the New York Post, compared to $305,000 for Pier 57 near West 15th Street.

But the event will have almost twice as much space as before, up to 406,500 square feet from 224,000 Downtown.

“Pier 57 was our nucleus, but we outgrew it,” Schrager told the Post. “We were all over Downtown and it wasn’t efficient. The festival has also used space at Basketball City On South Street as well as other locations.
