Planet Fitness becomes first gym in Bed-Stuy

Planet Fitness plans to pump up the presence of fitness in Bedford-Stuyvesant with a new gym. The fitness chain signed a 22,500-square lease for the first floor, second floor and basement of 1245 Fulton Street, near Arlington Place.

The one-story building is undergoing a renovation to accommodate the new occupant, which will be the sole gym in the area. Renovations are expected to be done by January 2015.

Winick Realty Group broker Zach Mishaan represented the owner, Infinity Real Estate, while Crown Retail broker Richard Chera represented Planet Fitness. Other Brooklyn locations include 777 Broadway in Bushwick; 249 Duffield Street and 245 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn; and 856 Remsen Avenue in Canarsie.
