Hell’s Kitchen is set to get a little more sinful. A new five-floor, 480-seat gentlemen’s club from the owner of the Sapphire is coming to 622 West 47th Street.

Esquire NYC Gentleman’s Club will have more of an upscale vibe than its salacious neighboring clubs Penthouse and Hustler, owner Glen Bernardi’s attorney told the area’s Community Board 4 at a meeting Wednesday.

“In terms of the operator, he has extensive experience in the adult entertainment industry,” Bruno Gioffre said at the meeting attended by DNAinfo. Unlike other strip clubs, Esquire will not have a velvet rope and lineup, and won’t advertise using paper fliers, Gioffre added.

CB4 gave the club’s liquor license application a preliminary nod on Wednesday, but the full board still needs to give its approval. In 2010, the board approved the liquor license for a branch of Pittsburgh-based strip club Cheerleaders.

The Far West Side’s strip clubs typically lie on industrial blocks, according to DNAinfo, meaning that the board doesn’t normally have to worry about noise complaints from the businesses.

“I don’t know if anyone’s noticed this,” committee co-chair Paul Seres told DNAinfo, “but with adult use, you never have any problems.” [DNAinfo]  – Hiten Samtani
