NASCAR star Jeff Gordon closed on the sale of his three-bedroom condominium at 15 Central Park West for $25 million – a $5 million drop from the asking price.
He bought the 3,454-square-foot unit for $9.67 million in 2007. The space was subsequently customized to feature a 46-foot-long wall of windows in several rooms and mahogany floors with brass inlaid edging. The four-time Sprint Cup winner listed it in May because the market was strong for trophy apartments, his agents Nora Ariffin and Christopher Kromer of Halstead Property told the Wall Street Journal.
Gordon, who primarily lives in North Carolina, has already moved on. He grabbed a four-bedroom condo in the Whitman building on Madison Square Park for $10 million in August, as previously reported. [WSJ] — Mark Maurer
