Murphy & McGonigle takes larger space at SL Green tower

Busting out of its offices, Murphy & McGonigle is moving to a larger space. The law firm, which specializes in commercial and financial deals, has leased the 21st floor of 1185 Avenue of the Americas.

The firm’s new spread has 27,231 square feet of space. Asking rents at the 42-story, 1.1 million-square-foot Times Square-area tower, owned by SL Green Realty, were about $65 per square foot, Crain’s reported.

Danny Levine and David Falk of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented Murphy & McGonigle, while SL Green was represented in-house by Gary Rosen and Howard Tenenbaum.

Murphy & McGonigle is leaving 60 East 42nd Street. The firm’s rapid growth is due in large part to the passage of the Dodd Frank financial reform, which has changed many of the ground rules in the financial industry, providing work for the specialized attorneys.  [Crain’s] – Amy Sara Clark
