Former Bond New York broker David Villalobos, who was mauled by a 400-pound Siberian tiger in September 2012, is to spend one year in a mental health facility under a bizarre plea bargain deal.

Asked at the time why he made the ill-fated jump, Villalobos said that “everybody in life makes choices.”

He later called the leap “a spiritual thing. I wanted to be at one with the tiger.” [NYDN]Julie Strickland
