Former Bond New York broker David Villalobos, who was mauled by a 400-pound Siberian tiger in September 2012, is to spend one year in a mental health facility under a bizarre plea bargain deal.

Villalobos, who leapt from the Bronx Zoo monorail and into the tiger’s den, pleaded guilty to tresspassing, the Bronx distict attorney said, according to the New York Daily News.

Asked at the time why he made the ill-fated jump, Villalobos said that “everybody in life makes choices.”

He later called the leap “a spiritual thing. I wanted to be at one with the tiger.” [NYDN]Julie Strickland

moron wanted to be “at one” with the Tiger. why are taxpayers footing the bill for him? He committed no crime. He wants to be with the Tiger. Bring him back to the tiger and leave him there.
