In another sign of Brooklyn’s changing character, a new office building is coming to a former factory at 80 Richards Street in Red Hook.

The six-story building boasts 50,000 square feet on the ground floor and 20,000 square feet on each upper floor, crowned with a rooftop space.

HH Equities bought the factory space in 2003 for $9 million, according to data from Property Shark cited by Brownstoner. Asking rents in the new space will be between $18 and $24 per square foot, and the owners are baiting would-be tenants with concessions such as one year of free rent.

Commercial Acquisitions Realty is marketing the building, and told Brownstoner that construction, which tenants can shape to their specifications, is to begin next month. [Brownstoner]Julie Strickland
