Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio ponied up his quarterly property taxes late – the New York Post is blaming his countless hours of campaigning for his tardiness – and got nailed with a $3.43 fine. De Blasio missed the deadline for the quarterly property tax payment of $660.26 on his Brooklyn townhouse, which led the Department of Finance to lay the smackdown.

In the past, de Blasio has failed to properly disclose tens of thousands of dollars in rental income at another townhouse he owns on the same block as his, 11th Street in Park Slope.  De Blasio also pays less in property taxes on his own home — which is valued at about $1.1 million – than many other owners of cheaper properties in the city, as was reported in September.  [NYP]  – Hiten Samtani
