Retail real estate mogul gives $25M to Yale dorm project

Robert Baker, co-founder of NRDC Equity Partners, a real estate investment firm that owns the Lord & Taylor chain of department stores, gifted Yale Law School with $25 million for a dormitory.

Funds will go toward the purchase and conversion of a campus facility into a building with administrative offices, conference rooms and housing for law students. Baker is an alumnus and also CEO of National Realty & Development Corporation, which is headquartered in Blue Bell, Pa. NRDC is based in Purchase, N.Y.
