Brian Edwards, the former Halstead Property executive director of leasing, has joined Brooklyn commercial real estate firm TerraCRG as chief operating officer.

Edwards previously spent nine years as an investor and consultant on projects such as the Historic Front Street in Manhattan’s South Street Seaport, 264 Water Street in Manhattan and 307 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. Before that, he was at Halstead for 13 years, managing and overseeing 175 brokers and teaming up with landlords and developers on a number of projects.

In the new post at TerraCRG, he will be responsible for managing growth at the six-year-old firm and serving as a recruiter, mentor and coach to two teams of brokers, according to a release from the firm.

“Our team has been rapidly expanding, and Brian’s management experience and skill set is a tremendous addition to our team,” Ofer Cohen, TerraCRG founder and president, said in the release. “His guidance will help us manage the firm’s growth and expand into new Brooklyn market segments.”

TerraCRG has been behind the marketing of a number of Brooklyn commercial properties as of late, including an $18 million, 26,000-square-foot lot at 120 Union Avenue in East Williamsburg, a $20 million development site on the corner of 11th Street and Fourth Avenue in Park Slope and a site at 275 Fourth Avenue in Park Slope that was purchased by Silverstone Property Group and Adam America Real Estate. — Julie Strickland
