A 40-foot-wide townhouse in the Upper East Side is expected to hit the market for an extravagant $114 million, making it the most expensive townhouse yet to come on sale in New York City.

Listing brokers Paul Anand and Gabriella Dufwa, of the Corcoran Group, pointed to the home’s location at 12 East 69th Street, vast space and prime condition as justifications for the eye-popping price tag. The most expensive other 40-foot-wide townhouse available in the city is asking $50 million, they said.

Built in 1883, the 19-room home between Fifth and Madison avenues boasts 20,000 square feet of interior space – seven bedrooms and six bathrooms – and 2,500 square feet outside, the New York Times reported. Amenities include a three-tier roof deck, heated indoor saltwater pool and a limestone façade.

Teresa Viola, president of invitation maker Maida Vale Designs and husband to Florida Panthers owner Vincent Viola, paid $20 million for it in 2005 with interest in a gut renovation.

Previously, the Woolworth Mansion at 4 East 80th Street had been asking $90 million, but has since been pulled from the market. [NYT]Mark Maurer

Should sell in a week. If it doesnt, then I dont know. Great price.

Haha. Genius. Yes, I agree, if it doesn’t sell in a week then the market must be adjusting.

  • barry

Move it to CPW or CPS directly facing the park and you can double the price

London’s record-setting $480 million is in Hyde Park neighborhood

An noxious example of high-guinea style.

It is called a Trophy Asset People. It might be overpriced, but if these brokers know what they are doing, they will sell it quickly. If not, on to the next…

  • what a joke

just remove the 4 in the ask and it is good to go LOL
