Charter Brokerage, a firm that helps companies with imports and exports, grew too big for its space at one SL Green Realty office building, so it’s trying out another. The landlord signed the company to a 10-year lease for 26,000 square feet at 125 Park Avenue.

Asking rent on the 18th floor is $65 per square foot. The 26-story, 572,705-square-foot tower is currently in the running for landmark designation from the Landmarks Preservation Commission. SL Green executives Steve Durels and David Kaufman represented the landlord in-house, while CBRE Group broker Michael Liss represented the tenant.

Charter Brokerage formerly occupied 15,000 square feet at SL Green’s 317 Madison Avenue.

“If they grow out of one of our properties, we can find a solution for them elsewhere because we have such a diverse array of locations and types and sizes of space,” Durels told Crain’s.

Commercial law firm Meister Seelig & Fein took 56,764 square feet of space there in October, as previously reported. [Crain’s]Mark Maurer
