WEEKENDEDITION New York City maybe the greatest city in the world, but it doesn’t have anything on Los Angeles when it comes to cars, as most recently demonstrated by an innovative and boldly designed parking garage in Santa Monica.

According to Curbed, the multi-colored, eco-friendly structure, dubbed Parking Structure 6, was designed by Studio Jantzen and Behnisch Architekten, and its amenities read more like those of a luxury residence than car storage.

The 744-spot garage, which opened last week, features, eight-stories, panoramic ocean views, electric vehicle charging stations, ground floor retail space and solar panels – not to mention cutting-edge architecture reminiscent of Paris’s Centre Pompidou. [Curbed]Christopher Cameron
