Alan Cumming pays $4.7M for East Village townhouse

Tony Award-winning thespian Alan Cumming has paid $4.65 million for an East Village townhouse. Cumming, who recently starred in a critically lauded production of “Macbeth” and appears on the CBS show “The Good Wife,” will move into the home, located at 404 East 9th Street, with his husband of six years.

The four-story, 20-foot wide property was listed for $5.1 million, the New York Post reported. It has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms as well as a large garden and a roof deck, according to the listing on RealDirect.

Cumming will have the opportunity to add a further two stories to the townhouse, according to the listing seen by the Post. The actor is reportedly close pals with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and his boyfriend Ben Maisani, who opened his third trendy gay bar in Hell’s Kitchen in June, as The Real Deal reported.  [NYP] – Hiten Samtani
