WEEKENDEDITION As the search for the killers of Williamsburg landlord Menachem Stark enters its second week, Mayor Bill de Blasio has weighed in, promising to find those responsible.

“We will find who did this to (Stark) and who robbed children of a father and a wife of a husband,” de Blasio told “Community Matters” radio host Leon Goldenberg on Saturday, according to the Yeshiva World News. “The NYPD are… making this a high priority to solve this once and for all.”

The confident statement by de Blasio comes after new evidence in the case was uncovered. According to the New York Daily News, investigators have found a cell phone strapped to the bottom of Stark’s car that was being used to track the 39-year-old developer. Police are now searching for the owner of the phone.

Stark was kidnapped on Rutledge Street in Williamsburg on January 2. He was later found suffocated and burned in a dumpster in Great Neck, Long Island. [NYDN]Christopher Cameron

The Mortgage was defaulted on and the National Bank was subsequently shut down by the FDIC . Joel Kestenbaum as a first mortgage holder wants to own the property that is worth over $50 million and didn’t want any fights with Permutter or Stark in the foreclose process, Rumors are that Kestenbaum was in arguments with them regarding this property and is a possible suspect .

And I’m sure Bill will ensure that the NYPD takes such a personal interest in the next needless murder of an 18 year old black kid in the Bronx????

What happened to Mr Stark is sad/pointless/tragic, but to think that the Mayor is calling in a favor on this one while so many other murders go un-investigated just gets under my skin.
