Two penthouses in the Brodsky Organization’s tony 135 East 79th Street hit the market yesterday asking $28.5 million and $18.5 million.

The pricier of the two, a duplex with five bedrooms and four baths, sprawls across 5,429 square feet and boasts a library, formal dining room, eat-in kitchen and private terrace, according to the listing on the Corcoran Group’s website. The $18.5 million penthouse is 3,559 square feet and features two bedrooms and three baths, as well as its own fireplace, terrace and a master suite with a windowed sitting room and dressing room with custom closets.

Corcoran Sunshine is handling sales in the building, where a financier paid $22.5 million for another penthouse earlier this month — the building’s record sale to date.

Brodsky purchased the building for $65 million from Hunter College in 2008. Designed by William Sofield, the vintage-styled property once housed Hunter’s school of social work. –Julie Strickland
