The Corcoran Group has been brought online as the sales agent for Harry Mackowe’s condominium coversion building at 737 Park Avenue.
Corcoran agents Deborah Kern and Hilary Landis will lead the sales team, according to a release from Corcoran. To date, more than $250 million in sales have closed at the building — including one $25 million residence and South African insurance mogul Adrian Gore’s $11 million buy earlier this month.
“We are thrilled to have been selected by Macklowe Properties to market the grand residences at 737 Park Avenue,” Pamela Liebman, Corcoran’s president and CEO, said in the release. “Corcoran has a wonderful history with Macklowe Properties having represented, along with the Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, the successful sales and marketing of the luxury condominium residences at 310 East 53rd Street.”
Macklowe Properties — along with Los Angeles-based private equity firm CIM Group — purchased the prewar building in August 2011 for $360 million, later converting the property into high-end condominiums. The firm has gotten tied up in a number of lawsuits with long-term rental tenants in the building since then, including one suit in which it attempted to evict a tenant for allegedly limiting construction. — Julie Strickland
