During his professional career, football pro Bret Lockett was known as a team player. That trait will no doubt come in handy now that the former New York Jets safety has joined the Ariel Cohen brokerage team at Douglas Elliman.

The 27-year-old also played for the New England Patriots and the Cleveland Browns. Off the field, Lockett founded Looking Forward Foundation, a nonprofit for inner-city youths, according to a spokesperson for Elliman.

His priciest sales listing at the moment is a four-bedroom condominium at Downtown by Starck at 15 Broad Street asking $3.1 million. Cohen’s team recently brokered the sale of a condo at 200 Chambers Street for $2.2 million after three weeks on the market.

“I am proud to be able to start my real estate career alongside Ariel Cohen and the rest of his team. I look forward to being a key asset in the expansion of the Ariel Cohen Team throughout Manhattan,” Lockett said in a statement.

The team also includes Alissa Rosemarin, Julia Spillman, David Schwartz, Stella Chernoff, Andrea Pedicelli, Krista Nickols and Kurt Bauccio. [NYP]Mark Maurer
