The rest of the top five were, in order, Gramercy Park, the Upper West Side, Washington Heights and the Financial District. One-bedroom apartments held the lion’s share of the leads, with 40 percent. The median rent inquiry was $2,348 per month. Two-bedrooms had 33 percent of the market and a monthly median inquiry of $2,800. Studios, the previous week’s leader, trailed this time with 27 percent of the leads and a monthly inquiry of $1,950, Zumper data show.

Meanwhile, three-bedrooms struck out altogether with no leads.

Methodology: Zumper determined the rankings by using a representative sample of emails and phone calls from renters interested in its Manhattan listings available for the week ending Feb. 2. — Mark Maurer
