WEEKENDEDITION The Lara, a new 30-story mixed-use building Downtown, which hit the market late last year, has already leased 55 of its 133 market-rate apartments.

Located at 113 Nassau Street – the birthplace of the New York Times – the building isn’t expected to be completed until spring. But that hasn’t stopped 25 residents from moving in.

“This place is completely under construction — it’s kind of an eyesore right now,” Jennifer Nusio, who recently moved into a one-bedroom on the ninth floor with her fiancé, David Blaine, told the New York Times. “But we’ve been able to overlook it.”

Pricing of the market-rate apartments (there are 34 units designated for affordable housing and one for the super) starts at $2,730 a month for a 430-square-foot studio and ranges to between $5,825 and $7,500 a month for the 950-square-foot two-bedrooms, according to the Times.

For an additional $300 annual fee, residents will have access to 10,000 square feet of amenities, including two outdoor terraces, a roof deck, a lounge, a gym with a boxing studio, and a gaming room. [NYT] Christopher Cameron
