Because the project is still in the earliest planning stages, details on the number of stories, units and square footage are not yet available, a spokesperson for Benenson told The Real Deal. The firm has owned the site since 1971 and recently completed demolition of an existing vacant office building to make way for the new development. No new plan exams or applications for work permits have been filed with the city as of yet.
The joint venture marks the fourth such effort for Benenson and Rose, which previously partnered on the development of the Metropolis, a luxury apartment building at 150 East 44th Street in Midtown, 21 West Street in the Financial District and an office building at 1180 Sixth Avenue. — Julie Strickland
