Coldwell Banker to air ad during Oscars: VIDEO

Brokerage acquired New York City company last summer

New Jersey-based brokerage Coldwell Banker Real Estate is planning to air the fourth installment of its 2014 advertising campaign, “Your Home,” during the upcoming Oscars, on March 2.

The 60-second spot is a longer sequel to an ad that ran during the 56th Grammy Awards last month, set to Motley Crue’s classic rock song “Home Sweet Home.” This is the second year the company has chosen to show its national ads during the film awards season, according to a press release.

The new ad shows nostalgic scenes of families using their homes as an extension of themselves, not just the wood and steel that built them. It features a voiceover by Tom Selleck, who’s father was the vice president of Coldwell Banker before retiring after a 38-year career with the firm.

“I’m proud to say that I’m now part of the family business,” Selleck said in a press release. “Over the last three years I’ve been pleased to become a part of the family and share such an up-lifting message about the importance of home.”

Coldwell Banker, which represents hundreds of luxury homes and has more than 600 agents in New York City, acquired the Manhattan-based Bellmarc Group as a franchisee last summer, as The Real Deal first reported. — Angela Hunt
