Planned Parenthood to open first Queens site
Nonprofit to take space in 16,000-square-foot Long Island City building
Reproductive health service and education provider Planned Parenthood of New York City will open its first Queens center next year.
PPNYC, which currently has centers in every other borough, will open its first Queens outpost at 21-41 45th Road in Long Island City’s Court Square area, president and CEO Joan Malin said in a statement cited by DNAinfo.
“The new health center will strengthen our ability to provide Queens residents with the essential reproductive health care services they need,” Malin said in the statement.
The one story, 16,000-square-foot locale is expected to open in 2015, and builds on PPNYC’s previous work with local groups such as the Queens Library, Sunnyside Community Services and the Elmhurst-based South Asian Youth Action to build reproductive health education programs for borough residents.
