Years late and millions over budget, Fulton Street Transit center is closing in on a June completion.

The MTA’s Lower Manhattan megaproject will open to the public on June 26, the authority’s board announced Monday. The undertaking will ultimately link 11 different subway lines at six different stations, and will join with the Port Authority’s World Trade Center Transportation Hub by 2016, as previously reported.

The westward No. 7 line extension, however, is lagging 11 months behind schedule and currently has a tentative completion date of November, 2nd Ave. Sagas reported.

The East Side’s Second Avenue subway line is currently on track for a December 2016 opening, though construction crews have already run through half the project’s planned contingency delays and a few dates have already been pushed back, according to the blog. Nevertheless, developers and brokers are reporting a spike in buyer and investor interest east of Third Avenue, thanks to the subway line’s progress. [2nd Ave. Sagas]Julie Strickland
