The city has granted developers Saif Sumaida and Amit Khurana building permits for a planned eight-unit condominium at 152 Elizabeth Street, BuzzBuzzHome reported. The 27,090-square-foot project is the first for the Manhattan-based duo, collectively dubbed Sumaida + Khurana.

Sumaida has been building in Manhattan for more than 20 years with his company the Foundations Group, according to a representative of the firm. Khurana is a commercial and residential developer from India. Their young firm purchased the site, on the corner of Kenmare Street off of the Bowery, for $21 million in February, according to previous reports.

The Japan-native’s seven-story design on Elizabeth Street, to include six parking spaces and a duplex penthouse, will add 6,000 vertical square feet to the existing four-story structure, according to the plan exam filed with the Department of Buildings. Interiors will be designed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates, which also created the retail spaces for brands such as Armani, Saks, and Vera Wang, as previously reported. [BuzzBuzzHome]Angela Hunt
