Durst sacks security head at WTC
The decision follows two widely publicized security breaches at the tower
After several embarrassing breaches, the head of security at One World Trade is out of a job.
David Velazquez — ex-director of the Newark FBI field office — joined the Durst Organization in August to lead security at the tower, according to the New York Post.
But just a month later, jumpers parachuted from the roof of the building and a teen from New Jersey also managed to sneak up to the antenna.
Velazquez has now resigned from his position for Durst. [NYP] – Christopher Cameron
