The design for an apartment building in Crown Heights, on a site formerly home to a church, was unveiled this week by a mystery developer.
An LLC associated with development firm Heights Advisors filed plans with the Department of Buildings last November to raze the St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 267 Rogers Avenue and erect a five-story, 165-unit building in its place. The church still owns the property, but entered a sundry agreement with the limited liability company that filed the plans at the end of last month, according to documents filed with the city.
Alain Kodsi, managing director of Heights Advisors and board member of community group United Neighborhood Homes, was named in the agreement. Think Architecture and Design is the architect of record, as previously reported. Plans for the new building were approved last week, the blog reported.
Plans for the building include a recreation room, a fitness center, a laundry room and 83 parking spaces — but no commercial space, which the blog attributed to the developer’s concern about the high retail vacancy rate at nearby recent developments like the Plex on Nostrand Avenue.
