Hoboken, N.J.-based Ironstate Development revealed renderings for its plan to build a 45-story rental tower on the site of a repurposed coal bunker in Downtown Jersey City.

The 670-unit building at 235 Grand Street, near Marin Boulevard, will be part of the Liberty Harbor North development. Construction is expected to start in June, with plans to open sometime next year. HLW International is serving as the architect.

The site currently houses the nonprofit the Boys & Girls Club of Hudson County, which is set to relocate in June to the 32,000-square-foot ground-floor space at a new $8 million facility at 18 Park. Then, the facility at 235 Grand Street will be razed to make way for the tower.

Ironstate is also behind a 152-foot-tall, 15-story building at 221 West 29th Street in Chelsea, as previously reported. [NY Yimby]Mark Maurer
