Yoko Ono has finally sold her West Village penthouse co-op for $8.3 million.
The three-bedroom penthouse co-op at 49 Downing Street was asking $8.99 million before entering contract in November. The artist and activist filed a $6.6 million lawsuit in October, arguing that the building’s co-op board hampered her attempts to sell her home. She bought the former horse stable for her son Sean Lennon in 1995.
The buyer was undisclosed. Paula Allen of Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing. The unit also has a terrace, greenhouse and rooftop deck. [Curbed] — Mark Maurer
