Commune to open two more hotels in NYC

One will be a Thompson and open in 2016

Commune Hotels & Resorts, a San Francisco-based joint partnership between Thompson Hotels and Joie De Vivre Hotels, has plans to develop two more hotels in Manhattan.

One will operate under the Thompson Hotel brand, while the other will have a different hotel brand. The properties, for which Commune has already inked deals, are slated to open in 2016.

The Tommie Hotel, a 329-room property in western Soho, is on pace to open next year. Nightly rates will be about $250. Also, a 250-room Tommie will pop up north of Madison Park. [Crain’s] — Mark Maurer
