New York Methodist Hospital and Stuart Klein

New York Methodist Hospital was hit with a subpoena from activist group Preserve Park Slope calling for the release of all information related to its expansion plan.

The subpoena demands all “books, papers and records” tied to the application for zoning variances required to build an outpatient facility. Hospital staff argued that lawyer Stuart Klein, who represents Preserve Park Slope, does not have the authority to issue the subpeona.

Klein intends to request that the Board of Standards and Appeals to hold off on a vote on the variances scheduled for May 20. A board spokesperson told the New York Daily News that the board “does not believe there is a need to allot additional time.”

Community Board 6’s Landmarks and Land-Use committee approved design plans for the facility at 506 6th Street in January, as previously reported. [NYDN]Mark Maurer

the photo you are using is not the lawyer who served the hospital with the subpoena. I think this fellow is an attorney in Florida. Please remove this photo immediately.
