Inside the museum home of Terry de Gunzburg
The cosmetics mogul found the "visual equivalent of perfect pitch" in her apartment
Art is king in the home of French-born cosmetics mogul Terry de Gunzburg’s New York City apartment.
Each room in the grand Upper East Side home was designed around the de Gunzburg’s extensive art collection, which includes works by Damien Hirst, Jason Martin, Richard Serra and Francis Bacon, according to Curbed.
For instant, the longtime Yves Saint Laurent Beauté creative director relies on a palette of burnt orange, plum, turquoise, navy blue, and lime green, mirroring the tones in the largest paintings. De Gunzburg calls it “visual equivalent of perfect pitch.”
De Gunzburg designed her interiors with the help of French designer Jacques Grange. Together they picked an Art Deco theme for the apartment using only period furniture. [Curbed] – Christopher Cameron
