Permits were filed for construction of a 140,041-square-foot, 51-story residential tower between South Street Seaport and the Financial District.

The Brooklyn-based Fortis Property Group bought 39 Fletcher Street, also known as 161 Maiden Lane and 77 South Street, last year for $64 million. The building will be designed by architecture firm Goldstein Hill & West.

The 74 units in the proposed 51-floor building will be distributed differently throughout the building’s floors.

Floors 5 through 10 will house four units each. Floors 11 through 24 will house two per floor. The building will also feature an outdoor pool on the 26th floor.

All the residences from the 27th floor up will be full-floor. The average floor plan is about 18,000 square feet.

The completion date for 39 Fletcher has not yet been announced. [NY Yimby] – Claire Moses
