After breaches, World Trade Center replaces security firm

Allied Barton Security contracted following recent intrusions

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced Wednesday that it will replace the firm in charge of providing security at the World Trade Center.

Allied Barton Security will take over duties at the site, providing unarmed guards following a recent series of security breaches, CBS News reports. In September, four BASE jumpers managed to sneak through a fence, ascend the tower’s staircase and leap from the top of One World Trade Center. In a separate incident in March, a teenager also got through a fence and summited the building by climbing its exterior scaffolding.
