UPDATED, 9:49 a.m., June 11: Lina Viviano is Town Residential’s new director of professional development, according to a release from the brokerage firm. Viviano’s new position was previously held by the company’s chief operating officer and president Jeff Appel.
Viviano is a licensed real estate broker and holds a master’s in American Government from Harvard University, according to the announcement. She’s also a graduate of the New York University Law School. Viviano, a native New Yorker, is the founder of Gotham Walking Tours, a historical tour and consulting company.
Viviano, in a follow up conversation on Tuesday afternoon, said that she is excited to continue Town’s neighborhood certification program and the rest of the company’s professional, educational programs. The goal? Turning Town Residential’s agents into what Viviano coined “Renaissance brokers.”
Viviano joined Town nearly four years ago when it was founded as a consultant, but this is her first full time job with the company.
In the announcement, Town’s executives welcomed Viviano into her new role.
“Town’s best-in-class talent is what separates this firm from its peers,” said Joseph Sitt, chairman and co-founder of the real estate services firm. “Lina Viviano exemplifies our commitment to providing Town representatives with superior guidance and counsel as they continue their successful careers.”
One of the first things she will do in her new role, is reach out to department heads and ask for input about how to expand the neighborhood certification program and educate Town’s brokers.
“I’m a teacher at heart,” Viviano said, “that’s the role I enjoy most.” — Claire Moses
