A Matthew Barney has purchased a $1.99 million Italianate frame house at 67 South Elliott Place in Fort Greene. Now, rumors are flying that the Barney in question is the famed performance and video artist – who also happens to be married to Icelandic singer Björk.

While it is yet unclear if the name is a coincidence, the buyer did engage the legal services of one Edward Greenberg, according to the New York Observer. It so happens that Edward Greenberg is also connected with the 2009 purchase of Barney and Björk’s $4 million Brooklyn Heights penthouse.
