New York Film Academy ushers in change, to open at 26 Broadway

The New York Film Academy is expanding.

The institution will open a new 45,000-square-foot location at 26 Broadway, close to Its Current 17 Battery Place location, the New York Post reported.

The new location is actually the old Standard Oil building, which once was home to John D. Rockefeller’s office. The now-defunct Sports Museum of America was once housed there, as well.

Howard Kesseler and Jamie Jacobs of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the Film Academy and landlord the Chetrit Organization.

Asking rent for the building is $42 per square foot. Other deals that were recently signed at the building, totaling 126,000 square feet, include the leasing of space by Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning. [NYP, 3rd] — Claire Moses
